Ekaterina has ten years of experience in working with all stages of registration and protection of trademark rights, including naming, preliminary checks, FTO analysis, filing applications, overcoming Rospatent refusals, filing applications from third parties, filing objections to the teaching staff, conducting court cases, participating in cases before the Federal Antimonopoly Service, filing trademarks in TROIS, filing claims, including on social networks, as well as experience in registering and the protection of industrial designs.

Ekaterina has experience in developing and implementing comprehensive strategies for protecting brands and intellectual property of companies in the Russian Federation and abroad:

• achieved the termination of legal protection by the teaching staff of trademarks that are confusingly similar to the brand names and trademarks of Russian and foreign companies, including for a Canadian snowmobile manufacturer, a well-known French cosmetic brand, a Russian manufacturer of building materials and an international pharmaceutical holding;
• protecting the interests of a large Swiss pharmaceutical company, a well-known international holding company for the production of hygiene products, as well as a leader in the global luxury goods market, successfully prevented the registration of trademarks similar to the clients' brand portfolios;
• participated in a successful case before the Federal Antimonopoly Service recognizing the NDK as unauthorized registration in the name of a trademark agent of a German agricultural machinery manufacturer and further defending the FAS decision in court;
• has achieved recognition of the acquired trademark distinction for a Russian bakery manufacturer and an American hotel brand;
• participated in creating brands and protecting them for a major Russian glass manufacturer, cosmetics company, and service companies;
• proved that the trademarks of a well-known Japanese clothing manufacturer, a Swiss manufacturer of a luxury watch brand and a German manufacturer of sanitary ware and bathroom furniture are the basic distinguishing features of trademarks.
• prepared amicable agreements for a major German instrument manufacturer during legal disputes;
• successfully canceled a number of trademarks in SIP due to their non-use;
• implemented a project to internationally protect a brand portfolio for the leader of the Russian animation market, including working with objections and the transfer of rights in China, the CIS countries and the EU;
• registered and maintained U.S. registrations for a Russian oilfield services company and a major Russian manufacturer of nuclear, oil and gas and electrical equipment;
• participated in a project to defend the registrations of dairy brands for Russian applicants in China after the import embargo was lifted (this project played a role in amending the Chinese Trademark Law in 2019 regarding unscrupulous applicants);
• took part in a project to enter trademarks into the customs registers of the CIS countries;
• participated in drafting international coexistence agreements, including for manufacturers of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food products and an animation studio.

In addition to her practical activities in the field of intellectual property, Ekaterina participated in international conferences on intellectual property, including INTA and IP Summit, and, for example, in 2022 she participated as a member of the Russian Committee in developing and preparing the results of an analytical project for AIPPI (the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) to protect trademark rights on the Internet and social networks.
